Lavanderia a Vapore is the only centre for dance residencies in Piedmont. Performances, artistic residencies, training programmes and multidisciplinary projects breathe life into the diverse spaces of what was once the laundry of Italy’s biggest psychiatric hospital.

Moti Arcani is a project that exploresthe symbolic dimension of dance throughthe aesthetics of esotericism.
The inspiration came from the Tarot: each figure, each movement, each visual fragment draws from the archetypes of the Major Arcana — inner forces moving beneath the surface, impulses guiding the gesture.
We collaborated with a textile artist to create a series of fabric masks: ritual objects infused with astrological, cabalistic, and alchemical references.
Each mask embodies an archetype, an energy, a hidden emotion. These are not just disguises, but revelations — symbolic devices that interact with the dancing body and amplify its intensity.

The project came to life through a seriesof videos and photographs that composea fragmented ritual.
A visual narrative in which dance meets symbolism, and the mask becomes an amplifier of meaning. Moti Arcani is at once installation, ritual, and campaign — a work that reimagines Lavanderia a Vapore’s visual identity and expands it into a more sensorial, archetypal dimension.
